Many Renaissance genres lived on into the seventeenth
century, including songs for solo voice and guitar
accompaniment, which continued to be influenced by the
humanist study of ancient classical Greek sources. Early
Baroque music was written in a new alfabeto
tablature system and performed with flamboyant strumming
